Emotional Health Services

When we first start working together, we will have a conversation regarding how I may be able to support you.

At that time, I will also recommend a model, or models, of therapy based on your needs.

I am certified in a variety of models, see below to get an idea of what some of them entail.

Adult Therapy

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)

WIth results in as few as 1-5 sessions, ART uses relaxing eye movements and a technique called Voluntary Memory/Image Replacement to change the way in which negative images are stored in the brain. The end result is that traumas and difficult life experiences will no longer trigger strong emotions or physical reactions. Importantly, clients do not even have to talk about their traumas or difficult life experiences to achieve recovery.

Trauma Focused
Cognitive Behavior Therapy

(TF-CBT)

TF-CBT is a proven, structured approach to healing that helps adults process and recover from the impacts of trauma.

In TF-CBT, we explore the connections between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors to better understand how trauma may be influencing your current experiences. Through compassionate guidance, you’ll develop coping skills to manage distress, safely process traumatic memories, and create a more empowered narrative of your life.

Somatic Therapy through Focalizing

Focalizing is a gentle, body-centered approach to healing that taps into your innate capacity for self-regulation and well-being. Rooted in somatic therapy, focalizing helps you shift from overwhelming or stuck emotional states to a sense of clarity and balance by focusing on sensations in the body rather than the story in the mind.

Through guided attention and mindful exploration, focalizing allows you to connect with your body’s wisdom, uncover hidden resources, and process experiences in a way that feels safe and empowering. This practice helps release stored tension, soothe the nervous system, and create space for new possibilities, whether you’re addressing trauma, anxiety, or life transitions.

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction
(MBSR)

MBSR is a powerful approach that therapists integrate into sessions to help adults manage stress, navigate challenges, and foster emotional resilience. By incorporating mindfulness practices like meditation, body awareness, and mindful breathing, MBSR encourages greater self-awareness and the ability to respond to life’s difficulties with calm and intention.

In therapy, MBSR can help you break free from cycles of overwhelm, reduce symptoms of anxiety or depression, and reconnect with the present moment. These practices provide tools to manage emotions, improve focus, and enhance overall well-being, empowering you to create lasting change in your life.

Prenatal & Postpartum
Psychotherapy

Welcoming a new baby can bring immense joy, but it can also bring unique challenges. As a therapist certified in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C), I specialize in supporting individuals and families during pregnancy and postpartum. This transformative time often comes with emotional ups and downs, including anxiety, depression, mood shifts, and the pressures of adjusting to a new identity as a parent.

Through compassionate and evidence-based care, I provide a safe space to explore your feelings, navigate challenges, and build tools to support your emotional well-being. Whether you’re struggling with perinatal mood disorders, processing a birth experience, or seeking support for the transition into parenthood, my goal is to help you feel empowered and supported every step of the way.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy
(DBT)

DBT is a highly effective approach for adults seeking to navigate intense emotions, improve relationships, and build a life that feels more balanced and meaningful. The main goal of therapists who use DBT is to strike a balance between validation (acceptance) of who you are and your challenges and the benefits of change. Through DBT, you’ll learn practical skills in four key areas: mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. These tools empower you to respond to life’s challenges with greater clarity and resilience, reducing impulsive reactions and fostering healthier patterns of behavior.
